How to undo changes with Post Revisions

While creating posts in WordPress, we often make a lot of mistakes and even without realizing delete important texts or content. What do you do in such cases? Lucky for us, WordPress has a built-in functionality called Post Revisions or simply Revisions that allows us to undo our changes and go back to earlier versions of our posts, that too without any additional plugins or enhancements. In this tutorial, we will show you how you can undo changes in WordPress with Post Revisions.

How to undo changes in WordPress with Post Revisions

1. Open the post where you want to undo changes.

2. On the right-hand side corner of the post, you can see the settings as shown in the screenshot below. Now, Click on “Browse” next to the ‘Revisions’ settings.

3. After you have clicked on ‘Browse’ you will be directed to this page. Here you can see the details of changes made during past revisions – like date and time of change, author by whom the changes were made, and so on.

The scroll bar on the top allows you to see different versions of the post revisions. Changes made in each revision will be highlighted in pink and green as shown in the screenshot below.

4. In order to restore the revision you made, put the scroll bar where you have made the revision and click on the ‘Restore This Revision’ button.  You will now have the revision you want, restored. If you like, you can even compare any two revisions by checking ‘Compare any two revisions’ box.
